Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! (Üdvözöllek a blogomon!)
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jamie I am from North Carolina born and raised, but I am currently living in Hungary. You are probably wondering how a girl from North Carolina who knows very little - and I mean VERY LITTLE - Hungarian ended up about 5,000 miles away from everything she has ever known. I guess you could say it started 11 years ago and I didn't even really know it, but God planted a little seed in my heart that would take 10 years to grow. Around this time in 2015 our congregation had a visitor come from Hungary. His name was Zoli and he had found us online. During his visit he was scheduled to have dinner with different families, including my family near the end of his visit. I don't remember much about the dinner except we had a number of people come visit and that I ended up taking him back to where he was staying. I'm sure we chatted during that short ride in the car, but I cannot recall what we chatted about. It was pretty much the end of his visit after that dinner and if I am completely honest I really wasn't sure we would ever hear from him again. (A little note: I actually had a recording on my phone of him singing, I saved that recording for years and I would listen to it periodically. I finally deleted it 4 or so years ago because I needed space on my phone and thought "we don't even hear from him so why do I have this".)  It wasn't long after this that we heard from him again.

Fast forward to March 2024 he sent me a message about one of his memories from his visit in 2015 was the dinner at my parents house. We would text every so often, but not much until January 2025. I guess you could say that the timing was right for both of us. He came to visit late February and we were able to spend a lot of time together, it was all just so comfortable and natural. We were engaged before he left and I made my first visit to Hungary in May. Then on September 14 I loaded my bags and myself in my parents car and headed to the airport. Many emotions and some tears - an airport worker even gave me a hug, but I was excited for what was ahead. We were married September 18 and here we are 6 months later still happy and excited to see what comes our way.

His cousin recorded the wedding so we could share
it with our family in NC.
